May 2001

From May to September 2001 the London-based visual artist Emma Hedditch was visiting the Copenhagen Free University. In several years she has been working inside women-only organisations in London, and she has made a very personal and poetic video film based on her experiences. When she was at the Free University we arranged an open excursion to similar women-only organisations in Copenhagen: The Danner House, a crisis centre for battered women, and the Women's House, a community house for political and cultural activities. The video and the results of the collaboration were on display from May to September 2001.

In connection with Emma's visit in May she launched an international video distribution network for women filmmakers. Mid September she was back in Copenhagen to show the first tape from the 'and I'll do anything to get girls into my bedroom' video distribution.

Emma's video 'Raising a Resister' and tapes from the 'and I'll do anything to get girls into my bedroom' video distribution can be viewed on request.

In collaboration with Emma an illustrated booklet was published: Copenhagen Free University #2. Order here
